What’s new?

Well the big news for us this month has been the official announcement that Sir Bob Geldof is to be the keynote speaker for the September 11th Trust Conference.  I’m sat on the train back from London, writing this, after meeting with Sir Bob to film a video about the importance of trust, in the run up to the conference! Can’t wait to share that with you in the next few weeks!

A tireless campaigner for human rights and charities around the world, Sir Bob, along with our other expert key speakers this year, are set to share, powerful, practical strategies that each of us can implement both in our work and in our lives. Showing us tried and tested ways to create a more trusted work place, community and world, not just for us here and now but for our children and future generations to live, work and connect in.

Wether you are running a multi million dollar business or you are in start up phase, The Trust Conference is the place to be, to learn how you can propel your business to outperform your competitors by as much as 10 times by growing Trust.

(Oh and if you live too far away to get to London on the day, this year we are also live streaming the event and providing participants with downloadable recordings to watch later)

I interviewed Hollie Delaney last night. Hollie is the Head of People Experiences at Zappos.com. A billion dollar company that Hollie highly attributes to a high culture of Trust, Connection and Happiness. Hollies sharing was generous and insightful about how to create an awesome culture, wether that is from a start up get go situation or an entire corporate cultural shift. With less than 3 months to go now to the 2nd Trust Conference, we already have over 350 business leaders booked to attend. Gold VIP tickets are sold out so please don’t delay if you are planning to attend…

Have a flow filled month ahead!

Michelle

PS. On July 16th at 1730 UK time, I am interviewing my good friend Roger James Hamilton, who is also one of our Trust Conference speakers this year… Roger is a renowned futurist and entrepreneur. His insights into building Trusted organisations and teams are not to be missed, so please diarise the date and look out for the details!

We had a truly insightful, magical time together and I’m looking forward to sharing much of the really exciting initiatives we are up for here at Talent Dynamics, in the upcoming months with you too…

We are gearing up for the 2nd Trust Conference now with less than 4 months to go. An inspiring line up of experts will be in London/online on 11 September, including Stephen MR Covey.

TDHQ April News

ros_banner

I had the opportunity to interview best selling author Steve Kotler about his new book The Rise of Superman this month. It was truly fascinating stuff!

I read Stevens new book and soon found the entire team were also reading it and we were comparing notes and insights. In the interview I find out from Steven, how top athletes reach a peak state called Flow (also known as being in the Zone) and how being in this Flow state increases productivity, attention levels, creativity and the ability to make life and death decisions in split seconds.

More importantly, I got Steven to explain how this relates directly to you in your role and how you can create a high Flow state in the workplace, that can get you amazing results, with some simple conditions being created…

Here’s a copy of the recording in case you didn’t get chance to tune in live last week. If you have a team this is really crucial information to know. Google and Zappos are already implementing this knowledge with their people…

This month I’ll be interviewing Roger James Hamilton on Trust and Flow. How they are interdependent and that by understanding there are some simple actions we can take, whereby we can create incredible cultures in our organisations, that the people within them can create phenomenal results… More details to follow on this in May but you can already save the date.

Interview with Roger James Hamilton – May 14th 0830 BST.

#Loveweek and creating Flow

We’ve just completed #Loveweek at Talent Dynamics. I saw a video that had been shared on Facebook less than 2 weeks ago with Vishen Lakhiani explaining how they introduced #Loveweek into Mindvalley a few years ago and what an incredible impact it has every year on productivity, as well as happiness at work.

My team thought it was an excellent idea and everyone wanted to play. The fun began immediately that everyone knew who they were to be a secret angel to. Friday afternoon in the office, the week before, may as well have been a half days holiday for everyone, as giggles of excitement and ‘don’t look!’ warnings were being shouted, as people started preparing and researching their angel acts for the following week.

The idea is, that each day you do something or give something to the person you are ‘assigned’ to as a secret angel. It could be: leave them a cup of coffee on their desk, write a card to them, pick a flower… Something special from you to them. The key is of course to understand and know the person you are the angel for so you can do something they REALLY appreciate

As the week went on, we all got more excited about getting into the office to see what our secret angels had done for us! What was even more interesting though was how we all got excited to see what had been done for each other…

The amount of thought that went into the acts were just incredible.

Here’s a few of my favourites from the week:

Hannah opened up this package and just burst into tears of joy! A hand drawn picture of her dog. Hannah said

“It was one of the kindest things anyone had ever done for me.”

When Janet received this card she said:

“This brought a tear to my eye, it was so heart warming to know that my secret angel had put so much thought into this for me”

Penny, who is well known for trying to do well at the dressage with her horse said

“When I opened this I just laughed out loud, so hard!”

Oh and me? Well my angel had really thought about what I like. I love to hear thoughtful words. My friends are supremely important to me and I just adore horses,

“this card brought me to tears with the special words that were also typed inside from a friend to a friend.”

When you make the effort to get to know someone you work with so well and to such depths, you know the triggers for them that can really make them feel loved. It could be something you say, something you do or even something you don’t say or do.

It reminded me of the purpose of building Trust and Flow. When you know someones profile, you know there is a language they speak, a way they like to be interacted with. You know the type of information they are most interested in and how it should be presented. Wether they want the detail or just an overview. You know if they are the kind of person who needs quiet time alone or and if they are the type that thrives on noise and constant interaction.

How well do you know the colleague who sits opposite to you? The one across the corridor?  Or maybe the colleague you never even met who works in the office on the other side of the world?

Do you have a common language that you can speak to make each other feel more valued?

Now, I don’t know wether #loveweek improved productivity or effectiveness in the workplace greatly (my team are very productive already!) but we sure did have an awesome #lovefilledweek!

So Vishen/Mindvalley, thanks for a brilliant idea and experience last week.  Next year we are going to open it up to consultants, clients, friends, suppliers and spread the love EVEN further!

The importance of Connection at Christmas

Talent Dynamics has been a lifetime member of B1G1 since we started. I’ve always believed in giving whatever you can give. Money, time or resources. Whatever can make a difference to someone else’s life and I’ve always had my businesses support that in someway in the past as well.

When I found out that less than 7% of all giving, was from businesses, I was shocked. I wanted to make a stand overtly with Talent Dynamics and help to reverse that trend. So we started to let others know we give through B1G1. We even give certificates to our accredited consultants so they know that it was their participation that had enabled the giving.

and the best bit… its not about signing £1000 cheques. In fact, with B1G1, the giving starts with as little as 10 cent. You (or your customers can) choose the amount and the impact you want to make.

100% goes to the project too. B1G1 have set it all up that way.

Every time someone buys a Talent Dynamics Profile Test from us, we give water to a family.

Every time someone completes an accreditation workshop with us, we educate a child in India for a month and so on…

1 Million Giving activities

We found out recently, that through our efforts and the friends we have introduced to B1G1, over 1 million giving activities have occurred! We are all really proud of the community that have been a part of this amazing contribution and connection.

As it closes to Christmas, a traditional time of giving, as a business owner or leader, I urge you to take another look at where your business can be even more connected in a way that’s meaningful to you, your customers and the team that work with you.

Please do check out B1G1

Thank you and a very Merry Christmas!

Michelle

What a fast and fabulous month we have had. On the 10th September we ran the first ever Trust Conference in London, with Stephen MR Covey as our keynote speaker. Over 800 business leaders attended, all focused at one thing – Creating a more Trust filled world.

Here’s a brief video that has captured some of the highlights if you missed it.

Oh and do look out on our You tube channel in the next 2 weeks for more content from the speakers!

We have already booked in next years event in London for Thursday September 11th, which will also mark the Trust Awards Ceremony as well. For those that cant make it to London, we promise we will live stream it next year so you can ‘come along’ too.

We will also be supporting the worlds first Trust Conference for Teenagers in the Spring, hosted by Teejay Dowe our Master License Holder in Talent Dynamics for Young People. More on all of these events in the coming months!

October is going to be really busy with accreditation trainings for us at TDHQ, we’ve added some extra dates due to the demand from the Trust Conference. We have new consultants joining us for accreditations from Egypt, Switzerland, Dubai, USA and Norway, which means TD will be available in 17 countries from October! Contact janet.carter@talent-dynamics.com if you want any further information on any of the accreditation levels.

After all the work of the Trust Conference, the TD team enjoyed a thoroughly good night out at the BIBA’s 2013,  where Talent Dynamics was in the finals for Exporter of the Year – we partied till the small hours of the morning!

Here’s to a flow filled month ahead!
