Its our great pleasure to introduce you to some of the UK’s Top Coaches/Trainers and Leaders, who, last month became the Worlds first Talent Dynamics Accredited Flow Consultants!

They were assessed by our experienced Talent Dynamics Performance Consultants and were accredited as having met our  high benchmark standard. Here’s what they had to say about the workshop.

A Flow Consultant has been specially trained to help you understand your own Personalised Talent Dynamic Report in depth and to help you to maximise the opportunity to get yourself into flow. They can answer your questions and can help coach you on specific strategies to employ based on your personalised Dynamics report.

Taster Session Case Study from USP Creative

“Talent Dynamics is just brilliant! We made a great investment in running a 2-hour Taster Session for the team. It’s been the most rewarding profile tool we have ever used and it makes the most sense. We will continue to reap the benefits of the session for a long time to come…”

Jan Peters Managing Director USP Creative

Why we ran a Taster Session with USP Creative

USP Creative based in Liverpool is a leading creative communications consultancy. Jan knew that people were just not in flow – she knew this instinctively but didn’t understand the process for measuring how much they were out of flow, what impact it was having on sales and productivity and how to get them back into flow.

They had some significant clients on their books and were busy in comparison to other agencies at the time yet they knew they could do much more and that their people could have more fun!

What we did

We ran our 2 hour ‘Taster Session’

During this session, the whole team received their personal Talent Dynamics Profile Reports and began to understand the best way to create value within their team and how to leverage that value with each other. The team started to have some real ‘aha’ moments about why certain relationships in the team were inhibiting performance.

After the session, everyone had an enhanced understanding of their own Profile and when and how they could be in flow, as well as the role of others in the team and each of their flow patterns.

Whom we worked with in the Enterprise

The entire operational team at USP

Programme timings

2 Hours

How the programme has impacted

6 months since the Taster Session:

Everyone’s roles and accountabilities have been re-analysed and people have been put into roles designed specifically to increase levels of trust and flow. New roles were created to improve this process using the profiles.

Communication is much improved and trust in each other has increased greatly. Jan has seen a direct correlation between how individuals in the team feel when they are more in flow and the positive impact on sales.

There is an overall feeling of optimism in the office. People are now really enjoying their work. The environment has greatly improved and the team is far more relaxed and happy.

This has all resulted in greater productivity and workflow. Jobs progress to invoice stage much faster and more effectively than before thereby increasing cashflow and profit.

Since receiving the profile I have focused far more on my networking, relationship building and spearheading of campaigns.  The effect upon my revenue and business activity has been exceptional not only do I feel happier in what I am doing at work but my boss is happier because I am making us both more money! Robyn Waddington, Security and Integrated Services Team Leader, Nybor Resourcing Ltd

I’ve been struggling to really focus my personal development this year and was coming up with all the usual things to work on. I’d heard about Talent Dynamics and decided to take the test and debrief. I’m so glad I did as it has been extremely insightful and has really helped me to focus some key, value adding development activity as a result. It was such a huge help in understanding my drivers and behaviours and has become a critical reference tool for me, not only in understanding myself but also in what sort of work and situations I deal best with, as well as how I interact with my team and my stakeholders. I’d totally recommend it to anyone! What B1G1 are saying about Talent Dynamics joining them in Partnership, allowing us to to 'give' more effectively

Submitted by paul on Mon, 01/03/2011 – 12:45

When education ‘begets’ education

Remember all those Bible sequences where someone ‘begat’ someone who then went on to ‘begat’ someone else.

My dictionary defines it briefly as ‘causing’ or ‘fathering a child’. How cool is it when you do something great that then causes something else that’s great to happen.

Michelle Clarke and her team at Talent Dynamics are doing precisely that.

Talent Dynamics dramatically (and I do mean ‘dramatically’) enhances performance of companies by making certain that everyone in every team is operating in that wonderful peak state called ‘flow’. It’s a brilliant process with stunning results.

And now, every time someone goes through the TD License Accreditation Programme, a child in India gets education for an entire month at the Sevalaya School. And Sevalaya is a great cause — it’s won the TCS-Education World Award for Innovative Value Education from among 25000 schools from all over India.

For Michelle, being a part of B1G1 is almost like a ‘coming out’ in a charitable sense. She puts it like this:

We have always had a policy to give back generously and we have done this almost ‘covertly’ in the past, because we didn’t think others needed to know about it. But now we realise that in the US alone, less than 4% of all contribution comes from business. So we decided it was time to ‘out’ our contributions and show it in a very transparent way through B1G1. We firmly believe that by doing this we can encourage other businesses to do something similar.

And it’s more than that too. Michelle and the team regard the Sevalaya School as just a start.

We’ve got many interesting variations and options with our programs and so we now have the possibility of linking each option to a different type of cause, Michelle says. And we even have the opportunity to match the project directly to our clients’ interests so that each program can, in fact, have literally hundreds of different projects linked to it.

You can see more on the great work Michelle and the Talent Dynamics team are doing right here. And you can see more about B1G1 simply by clicking the HOME tab above or clicking right here.

Jans Corner: Resolutions. Setting Goals or Raising Standards?

The beginning of the year is a traditional time for new year’s resolutions or goal setting. We all have been there and done that – both in personal life and in business. We know that resolution time often starts with great enthusiasm and expectations but the results tend to be less impressive. Good intentions can turn into disappointments.

I stumbled upon some interesting research. According to the Opinion Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey, 62% of the surveyed people make New Years resolutions and achieve the following:

  •  8% are always successful
  • 19% achieve resolutions every other year
  • 49% have infrequent success
  • 24% never succeed and have failed on every resolution every year!

Practically, three out of four individuals are likely to fail to keep their resolutions or fall short on achieving their New Year goals! Why?

Possibly in a moment of opportunity and inspiration – and sometimes desperation – on New Years day we take too much on. It is not easy to stop smoking off the bat, after many years or lose weight when you really love cookies. Same in business. For instance, changing poor customer service into exceptional, is not an easy task to do from day one. Increasing profitability is not just about quick cutting costs or a sales promotion but about adopting new ways of operating in business.

I suggest that we take it easy and little by little. By all means set important inspiring goals for the year but focus also on the small easy wins that can be done on a daily and weekly basis. The small things that don’t require a complete overhaul but just a tweak and a bit of attention or discipline over time. Like starting meetings on time (and with a clear agenda), following up with a potential customer within 24 hours, or saying thank you to a colleague who has done something we take for granted. One can only imagine the cumulative effect of these daily actions on the effective use of time, on sales, and on team motivation.

Small actions – done consistently – will effectively raise the standard of operating that also allows for achieving your goals easier. Like a football team who raises their standard of training, mental preparation and nutrition by a little and this way are able to score one goal more in each game. As a result they tie more games they would have previously lost and win more games they would have previously tied. This may mean the difference between top 3 league position (with its accolades) and being average or bottom of the ranks.

Where can you raise the standard in your business today? What are the little and easy things that when done consistently over the next month or quarter can make a big difference to your performance and achievement of your longer term goals?

Remember it is enough to just pick one for the start. I suggest you pick the easiest for you to do now. You can always take on another one next month and then another one the following month and this way gradually raise standards and build habits of success in your business.
